Welcome to Waffle Flower October 2019 Release Blog Hop! I hope you are ready to check out variety of stamps and dies this month. You get to play with a little bit everything. I am sharing 5 cards that I made with this month’s product. I am curious which one is your favorite.
<Card 1>
I started with this fall card with images are illustrated by Cassie Loizeaux. To make this card. I stamped the images from Fall Greeting stamp set and die cut with the Matching dies. Then I colored them with Copic markers and set aside.
I ink blended Tim Holtz Distress oxide ink in Fossilized Amber onto an A2 sized watercolor paper and splattered ink droplets over. I cut 2 pieces 1.25 inches wide strips out of white card stock paper and attached them onto the background using Foam tapes to create dimension. I added selected colored images and embellished my card with color coordinating enamel dots from Up&Running Enamel Dots.
<Card 2>
We are staying with Fall season with my second card. I really like this set called Happy Fall. You get to have tons of accessory images to build your own scene. What I like the most is that you could easily stretch this stamp to a Happy Winter stamp with the main characters. I prepped my background with Tim Holtz Distress oxide ink in Fossilized Amber using ink blending and droplet techniques. Then I grabbed a piece of A2 sized craft color card stock paper and cut the upper center using one of Nesting Squares Dies. I attached this window cut out front panel over inked background with foam tapes and brushed a little Fossilized Amber oxide ink around the edges.
I colored images from Happy Fall Stamp set and die cut with the Matching Dies. Then I arranged them to my prepped background and stamped the sentiment “Give Thanks”. Isn’t it easy?!
<Card 3>
You’ve seen a few stamps from different countries. Now it’s time for China. Not sure if you all know that I was raised and grown up in China until 20 years old. Making this brought me into the memory of being a child watching dragon dances and receiving red packet(elders usually give money to us as tradition which is my favorite part of new year haha) To begin with this card, I ink blended the background with Tim Holtz Distress oxide ink in Squeezed Lemonade and Worn lipstick. Then i cut my large rectangle window using Nesting Rectangles Dies and attached to the background with Foam tapes.
I copic colored my images from Ni Hao Stamp Set mainly in yellow and red which are two traditional Chinese color combo and die cut them with the Matching Dies. I arranged colored images to the background and added yellow enamels from Up&Running Enamel Dots as embellishments. At last, I stamped the sentiment “Happy New Year” in English and Chinese characters.
<Card 4>
If you think my last three cards are easy, then you would be surprised with this fun card. It took me about 20 minutes. First of all, I ink smudged with Mustard Seed Tim Holtz Distress oxide ink and water mixture onto a piece of A sized watercolor paper. Once it’s dry, I stamped this super large stamp from Happy Thanksgiving Stamp set using VersaMark embossing ink and heat embossed with gold embossing powders. A stamping trick:You could prep a large background stamp by rubbing eraser over it prior to your first use. You’ll find out the coverage is amazing.
To bring the interests, I splattered the color mixture and gold watercolor paint over the background by tapping a paint brush. Da ta, it’s done!
<Card 5>
Now it’s large die cut sentiment’s turn. I am going for an elegant look. I inked my A2 sized watercolor paper with Tim Holtz Distress oxide ink in Tea Dye and Wilted Violet. Then I created the background impression using Lattice Panel die ran through my die cut machine with a rubber embossing mat. I die cut the Large Thank you sentiment using Oversized Thank you Die out of my purple card stock paper scrap. I attached it using foam tapes and embellished my card with white and purple enamel dots from Up&Running Enamel Dots.
